Esther Furnace Covered Bridge

Esther Furnace Bridge spans the North Branch of Roaring Creek in Cleveland Township, Columbia County. It is on Twp. Rte. 373, in proximity of 3003, south of Catawissa. Built in 1881 by C. W. Eves, this bridge cost $1,044.75. It is named after the Esther iron smelting furnace built in 1817. The only covered bridge in the county with two spans and a mid-stream pier. Structure length of bridge 101 feet.
